I officially have fall fever. Fall is my absolute favorite season, and around August every year, my patience for summer wears thin. The prospect of fall got me reminiscing about last year when my friends eloped.

Jen and Justin are good friends of mine. When I got the news they were eloping in Aspen, CO, I knew it would be breathtaking. Since it was an elopement, I wasn’t going to be there. But that didn’t stop me from doing what I do best, pushing my friends to let me do their wedding flowers (hehe!). So how was I going to get my friend a flower crown and bouquet on her wedding day fresh and beautiful?

After some critical thinking and research I decided to ship it overnight from Pasadena to her Air BnB in Aspen. Now I thought she was tying the knot on Saturday, so I shipped it Thursday with arrival to her on Friday. This would give her the chance to re-hydrate the flowers and pluck out any that didn’t make it (despite being water tubed…that’s right, I water tubed every SINGLE stem). Well, once the package arrived, I got a call from Jen, she was thrilled. She told me it came as she was getting her hair done. This stumped me, “why are you getting your hair done the day before, Jen?” come to find out, the elopement was THAT DAY! Whew, thank god UPS was reliable (for once)!

Thanks to UPS and unusually cool weather that week, the flowers arrived safe and sound in perfect condition. Jen and Justin were so happy with the flowers and I was happy to have been there in my spirt form.
